At home you will forever find me barefoot, carving out little moments of joy within the chaos that is raising two daughters, delving deeper into my creativity and rushing to make it somewhere on time. Dried flowers and velvet ribbons live alongside endless piles of laundry, crayons and scrap paper, missing toothbrushes, mountains of pasta and an eternally growing pile of books I hope to one day read.

I’m an Aussie girl who met my partner while travelling in Rwanda, near 10 years ago now. Never would I have believed that one day I would make a home and life here in London. So much of my story, creative foundation and orientation is steeped in my Australianness. The juxtaposition of the scorching and sublime, the shimmering light, the expansive wilderness and crushing power of the land. Alongside the celebration of creative and independent cinema, music and storytelling, there is such deep magic to be found.

All of these things of my youth have collided with the chaos, closeness and grit of living a family life in London. Becoming a mother and taking the last five years to be with my daughters I finally fell in love with this city. The hodgepodge of history and innovation, the crumbling and cobblestone set against the brutalist and beyond.

For me photography is about the imagery but greater still it is a deeply evocative and majestic form of storytelling and affirmation of our lives lived.

Years ago I specialised in trauma, genocide and conflict. This undertaking highlighted the importance of visual record and storytelling. In my life I have explored many things, Doula, Writer and Podcaster being some of the more recent.

As I look back, I now see, that they weren’t as random as I had first supposed. All of my undertakings have always been expressions of my curiosity and continued pursuit to know more about our human experience, of my storyteller self.

My photography was elevated and expanded when I became a mother. The darker moments, the loneliness and vulnerability, the strength and softness that is required. These are the things which have propelled me to create and explore new spaces from behind the lens.
